Curriculum

Reidy Park Primary School curriculum is based on the following areas of study:

English
Mathematics
Science
Technology
Health and Physical Education
Society and Environment
The Arts
Languages other than English (Italian)

These programs are based on SACSA guidelines provided by the Dept of Education & Children's Services (DECD).

Music, Drama, Physical Education and Italian are taught by school-based specialist teachers.

Our school also provides Early Intervention Literacy programs (Rocket Reading and Lighthouse Literacy), Senior and Junior Choirs, plus a variety of school sporting teams.

The school has a focus on the Performing Arts and students are given the opportunity to be involved in a range of performances and ensembles.

Co-Curricular Activities

Specialist music tuition is offered in strings, woodwind, percussion and brass instruments and many students receive private music tuition outside of the school program.

The Upper School and Middle School Choirs perform in Adelaide and Lower South East Music Festivals, while musical performances are staged by many classes for the school community.

Extensive sporting opportunities exist for students in school-based teams, which are parent managed. Most sports are offered.

Transition Programs

We work collaboratively with the local kindergartens in offering a transition program for children commencing school for the first time.

Transition programs operate for students moving to the four secondary schools which receive our students.
